Oh friend. I can so relate! I was going to live my life on the mission field in Cambodia! I was going to get married and have lots of babies with my husband! I was going to be the best Mom ever!!

I was...

I was...

I was...

Now?

I'm divorced from my gay ex husband

Never carried a child/never been pregnant

I've got four foster/adopted kiddos

I'm not the best Mom ever!

So many struggles in raising abused and neglected children

My children became my mission field

I remarried a WONDERFUL man

And now I'm watching Parkinson's Disease slowly take him away from me

It didn't turn out as expected, but wow - what a ride it's been!

Mindy, that short version of your huge story is incredible. The fact that you’re still standing with faith and love is so amazing. God bless you, friend!

1st, Happy Anniversary! Rejoicing w/you in life's celebrations & accomplishments. Cheers to you both for many more years!

I'd stopped reading your posts, big mistake. So, after reading this,I'll go back & update on what I've missed.

As for 'wait-what!?' After 46+yrs of: 'That's not what I, or we thought, or planned!' Repeatedly...

I sum it up as; commitment. God, Faith, my Spouse, my family, God....&...commitment...

*but God*

Thanks Paul

oh so true.... good read!

the woulda...shoulda...coulda's of life can have alot of power if we let them. repeatedly going to the cross with them is the only way to not let them eat at us.... but some days, it is tough!
